Two golfers from Tarrant County won titles today at the ESPN Golf Connection Tournament of Champions, with David Reynolds of Trophy Club Country Club taking the men’s division and Mina Hardin of Mira Vista Country Club claiming the women’s division.
Reynolds fired a second-round 71 to force a playoff with Burk Goldthorn, then prevailed in a one-hole playoff at Stonebriar Country Club in Frisco.
Hardin posted a second consecutive 71 in her final round to secure a six-stroke victory over runner-up Kathy Crumley. Hardin, a Fort Worth resident, also won last week’s USGA Senior Women’s Amateur title in Fort Myers, Fla. Hardin, 50, will be honored Thursday night during a reception at Mira Vista for her Senior Women’s Amateur title.
The Tournament of Champions is open to male and female club champions from courses in North Texas, plus past champions and the top 10 finishers from the previous year’s T-of-C event.
