Richard Lewis, a 64-year-old member of the Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas, is closing in on a Guinness World Record for rounds played and walked in a calendar year.
Lewis is scheduled to walk his 600th round of the year on Sunday, Dec. 26 at the TPC Four Seasons Las Colinas course in Irving. Every round Lewis has played in 2010 has occurred on either the TPC course – the tournament course for the HP Byron Nelson Championship – or at the club’s member course, Cottonwood Valley.
Technically, Lewis already has broken the existing Guinness record of 586 rounds in a calendar year. Lewis played his 587th round on Sunday, Dec. 19 but seeks to top the 600 mark to put some distance between himself and the previous mark.
Even better, he plans to turn his 600th round into a fund-raiser. Several supporters have paid more than $5,000 to play with Lewis in this record 600th round on the TPC layout, with proceeds to benefit The First Tee of Dallas.
