Officials at ClubCorp, which operates several golf courses in Dallas-Fort Worth, will host its annual one-day charity golf and dining event -- the ClubCorp Charity Classic -- on April 30.
Last year's event raised $1.7 million for multiple area charities.
Organizers said this year's event will involve 140 ClubCorp clubs and an estimated 25,000 participants who will take part in charity-related tournaments, banquets, auctions, culinary experiences and sports activities.
One of those tournaments will be the Brookhaven Country Club Charity Classic in Dallas. Other courses affiliated with ClubCorp will stage comparable events.
Officials said all proceeds raised during the ClubCorp Charity Classic will be divided equally and donated to three separate charities:
• The Muscular Dystrophy Association’s (MDA), specifically “Augie’s Quest,” an initiative within MDA that is an aggressive, cure-driven effort singularly focused on treatments and cures for ALS, (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig’s disease).
• The Family Health Center of Farmers Branch, which aids children in dental and medical care to help better their education potential.
• ClubCorp’s Employee Partners Care Foundation (EPCF), a fund created to help ClubCorp’s employees and their families by providing financial assistance in times of crisis.
