Peyton Vitter, a New Orleans resident, rallied today with a closing 71 to take a one-stroke victory in the boys’ 15-18 age group at the Southern Junior tournament at Dallas Athletic Club.
Vitter, 18, was one of only two golfers to break even-par 72 in the final round. Vitter finished one stroke ahead of Jay Burlison, who shared the 36-hole lead at the 54-hole event. Keller resident Sean Walsh, a co-leader after 36 holes, posted a final-round 80 to finish seventh, three strokes behind Vitter (219 total).
