Both Dallas-Fort Worth stops on the PGA Tour received year-end honors for their efforts in 2011, tour officials announced today. The Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial received an award for “Best Special Event” in recognition of a successful pre-tournament function that included the top 100 private and public businesses in D/FW. The HP Byron Nelson Championship earned awards for “Best Advertising Campaign” and “Best Social Media Activation” for its tournament-week efforts in May.
