Officials at the HP Byron Nelson Championship announced several new, family-oriented initiatives for the 2012 tournament today. The new policies include:
n Free parking and free shuttle service for fans who use the former Texas Stadium lot.
n Free admission for children 13 and under.
n Family picnic areas at selected, shaded course locations.
n Designated “kids only” viewing areas at greenside locations on selected holes.
“Our clear focus is on families this year,” said Robert Smith, 2012 Nelson tournament chairman.
Dates for this year's tournament in Irving are May 14-20.
