Phil Mickelson, a three-time Masters champion and the No. 9 player in the world golf rankings, will compete at the HP Byron Nelson Championship, May 14-20 in Irving. Tournament officials announced Mickelson’s addition to the field today, along with a commitment from Vijay Singh.
It will mark Mickelson’s first appearance at the Nelson since 2007 and will be his lone D-FW appearance this season. Mickelson, a two-time champion at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, said earlier this month that he would not be competing in Fort Worth this season.
