Tournament directors from D-FW’s PGA Tour stops had a recent golf match at Cowboys Golf Club, which will produce a unique payoff at this week’s tour meetings in San Antonio.
Michael Tothe, tournament director of the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, will be sporting a bright yellow golf shirt featuring the logo of the HP Byron Nelson Championship during today’s meeting. That is because Nelson tournament director Jon Drago won the match, 3 and 1.
Tothe already has requested a rematch in June, once the PGA Tour completes its two-week journey through Irving for Nelson week (May 14-20) and through Fort Worth for Colonial week (May 21-27). Drago said he welcomes the rematch.
