Golf marathon raises more than $81,000 for The First Tee of FW

Local golfers raised more than $81,000 for The First Tee of Fort Worth during the organization’s third annual golf marathon, May 11 at Rockwood Golf Course. Participants played more than 3,100 holes during the 12-hour window, with one golfer completing 207 holes.

Money raised at the marathon goes toward funding programs and outreach initiatives of The First Tee of Fort Worth. The Angela Stanford Foundation served as title sponsor of the 2012 golf marathon. Stanford, an LPGA Tour competitor and former TCU golfer, visited with golfers during the marathon. So did Jenny Gleason, a competitor from the LPGA Futures Tour.
