Verplank out of Colonial field with wrist injury, Reifers replaces him

Scott Verplank, a Dallas native and longtime competitor at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, withdrew from the 2012 event this morning because of a wrist injury. He will be replaced in the field by Kyle Reifers, the first alternate on the Colonial list. Verplank also was a late scratch last week at the HP Byron Nelson Championship. Verplank has played in 21 Colonial tournaments, with a career-best finish of fifth in 2010.
