FW golfers Grace, Hardin inducted into Texas Golf Hall of Fame

Two distinguished amateur golfers from Fort Worth, John Grace and Mina Hardin, were inducted tonight into the Texas Golf Hall of Fame during a ceremony in San Antonio.

Both golfers were selected in July as part of a 2012 induction class that also included PGA Tour competitor Justin Leonard, the 1997 British Open champion.

Grace is the only golfer to complete a career sweep of the Texas Golf Association’s primary individual titles: the Texas Amateur, Mid-Amateur and Senior Amateur. A former Walker Cup competitor, he played in 19 U.S. Amateur events.

Hardin won the 2010 U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur, as well as the 2009 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur title. She is a five-time Texas State Women’s Amateur champion.

Other honorees in the 2012 class include Leonard, club professionals Charlie Epps and David Price, and two posthumous additions: the late Robert Dedman, Sr., founder of Club Corporation of America, and the late Sam Goldfarb, Sr., longtime president of the San Antonio Golf Association. Officials also added Champions Golf Club in Houston to the Texas Golf Hall of Fame’s Texas Registry of Historic Golf Courses.
