Golfers interested in learning about the life of local golf legend Ben Hogan will have a unique opportunity at the Cow Pasture Golf Classic, a June 6-7 event that benefits the Ben Hogan Museum of Dublin.
The two-day event includes two separate golf outings, each costing $100 per person. Golfers can compete in both for $150. There also is a party ticket for $20 for non-golfers.
The golf events include a four-player scramble on Friday at PAR Country Club at LakeProctor (18 holes). The Saturday outing, also a four-player scramble, will be at the Cow Pasture, a nine-hole facility formerly named the Dublin-DeLeon Golf Course. For additional information, visit www.BenHoganMuseum.org or e-mail BenHoganMuseum@gmail.com. Golfers also can call 254-445-1919.
Both events will be tied together by a Friday dinner at the Dublin Rotary Club, capped by the unveiling of a state historical marker for the Hogan Blacksmith Shop. The shop, owned by Ben Hogan’s father, was located behind DublinCity Hall. There will also be tours of the BenHoganMuseum.
The Saturday golf at the Cow Pasture will take place at the venue where Hogan won his last amateur event when he was 17. Golfers will return to the Dublin Rotary Club for lunch and awards after the Saturday golf outing.
