Weatherford resident Bruce Devlin, a native of Australia who won the 1966 Colonial tournament, is among five past PGA Tour competitors on the ballot for inclusion in the Texas Golf Hall of Fame. Devlin is joined by fellow candidates Jeff Maggert, Blaine McAllister, Joe Jimenez and Dave Eichelberger for the 2014 induction class under the tour professional category.
Nearly 50 candidates are on the ballot, including notable instructors Hank Haney, Chuck Cook and Paul Marchand. All three tutored professional golfers who won major championships. Also on the ballot among club professionals is the late Roland Harper, former golf professional at Colonial Country Club, and Lindy Miller, former golf professional at Mira Vista Country Club. Balloting concludes July 31. Inductees will be honored at a ceremony Oct. 20 in San Antonio.
