PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Another one off the bucket list: All three name cheesesteak places in Philly.
Today marked the final of the trio: Geno's.
This widely known cheesteak place in South Philly has become a giant tourist trap complete with long lines and plenty of character and calories. I ordered wit' cheese wiz and onions, and it's a solid cheesesteak. But it's not the best one.
The best cheesesteak among the trip of Geno's, Jim's and Pat's is Pat's King of Steaks, easily. Not even close.
Located directly across the street from Geno's around 9th and Passyunk in South Philly, Pat's was the place that was made famous by the movie Rocky. The meat is better, and sliced differently.
You are not going to go wrong with any of these three, but to rank ...
1. Pat's
2. Geno's
3. Jim's
Now, if you can't make it to any of these three, a street vendor selling a cheesesteak in this city is just as good ... if not better.

Oooh, yummy! I'm definitely adding philly cheesesteak at Pat's to my online bucket list on Wanderable :P

Finding a place to park can be a challenge but I had a cheesesteak from Pat's and I loved it. It was one of the bucket list type things to do.

Wrong. Ive lived there. Geno and Pats r 4 tourists. Jims and Tony Lukes blow the other 2 away

I like your top 3. I think you have the top 3 best Philly Cheese Steaks spots but the order of those is subject to debate. I'm a Geno's man. Love that joint. You can't go wrong with any of your top 3 but I love Geno's atmosphere, the people that eat there and yes, the sandwiches are out of this world. If I'm gonna have a triple bybass I'm gonna have it done at Genos. Love it!
