Yu Darvish isn't even in town yet for his introductory press conference and, according to Rangers GM Jon Daniels, the team does not look like it will be able to add Brewers free agent first baseman Prince Fielder.
Daniels told The Ben and Skin Show (103.3 FM) today that adding Fielder is "unlikely."
JD may be sincere with this comment, but that does not mean they are not trying. JD is not unlike just about every other GM in sports who would rather eat rat poop than admit to anything other than the correct spelling of their own name.
The Star-Telegram's Jeff Wilson reports that a pair of MLB sources are saying that adding Prince is still not out of the question.
Bob Nightengale of USA Today says adding Prince is very much a possibility.
Time is running out for Fielder to find a team, and agent Scott Boras may only have two teams to play against each other. The longer this goes, the better it is for the Rangers if they really want to do this.
