MLB, NHL, NBA & NFL's regular seasons continued to be devalued

137577539_crop_650x440The New York Giants' nine regular season wins were the second-fewest among any of the 12 NFL playoff teams, yet here they are heading to the tourist trap that is Indianapolis, Indiana. At least when the Giants reached the Super Bowl as a wildcard in the 2007 season they won 10 games.

The Giants' run is just one more piece evidence that it really is just about "getting in" and that the best team has been replaced by the "hot" team.

The last time the NFL "regular season" champion won the Super Bowl was 2003. Using that season as a reference point, here is how well the regular season translates to the postseason in the other sports:
