This is a pretty disturbing story.
Colorado State linebacker Mike Orakpo, who is the younger brother of former Texas Longhorn star and current Washington Redskin Brian Orakpo, has been suspended along with two teammates by Rams head coach Jim McElwain after he was reportedly involved in the beatings of four CSU students over the weekend.
Four CSU freshmen were reportedly beaten by Mike Orakpo, and fellow CSU players Nordly Capi and Colton Paulhaus.
No charges have been filed.
According to this story in the Colorodan, the four male CSU freshmen suffered black eyes, cuts, bruises, chipped teeth; one victim had a shoe print on his back.
The three CSU football players reportedly were in an SUV and shouted homophobic slurs at the four freshmen. After some verbal exchanges, the car stopped, the players got out and the fight began.
Orakpo has played two seasons at CSU after he was recruited out of Houston's Westbury high school. He was third on the team in tackles last season. Orakpo was involved in a fight on March 17 in which he suffered minor cuts.
On Monday, Orakpo Tweeted this verse from the bible: "Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account."
