Not for the first time in his tenure as owner/GM/president of the Dallas Cowboys has Jerry Jones used the description "glory hole." He did so again at the Dallas Cowboys' introductory press conference over the weekend in Oxnard, Calif.
Jones told reporters: "I’ve been here when it was glory hole days and when it wasn’t. I want me some glory hole!”
Because most of us media dorks are collectively around 12 we laugh at such lines. It is funny. And it was not a mistake. Jerry has used "glory hole" many a times in interviews.
Now, for the kids, what exactly is a "glory hole"? This is a post-graduate, thesis-worthy answer.
According to onlineslangdictionary.com, it means: "A hole in a wall accessible from both sides (especially the divider between bathroom stalls) used for anonymous sex."
Urbandictionary.com says, "A hole located in a partition in which one's (stuff) is insterted, thus separating the participants and ensuring anonymity throughout the action."
It also says, "In higher class establishments, this hole will be fabricated with duct tape to prevent chafing."
Those must be some really nice places, complete with running water.
There are other, more PG, definitions.
According to Merriam-webster.com, "A furnace for softening glass when it becomes stiff in offhand working and for fire-polishing glass."
And Dictionary.com says, "Any locker or enclosed space for loose gear."
Wonder which defintion Jerry was referring to?

In my youth it was used to refer to something every adolescent boy desires.

It first was used to describe a goldmine where large streak of gold was found. But I doubt if Jerk Jones ever heard of it used outside of San Francisco in the 70's.

The "Glory Hole" is Jerry's mouth. Everything that springs from it is born of fantasy and delusion.
