Loss of Deron Williams got you down, Mavericks fans? Fear not.
Get your Rafael Hettsheimeir jerseys now!
Who is Rafael Hettsheimeir? He is a 6-foot-10 big out of Brazil who can ball. Maybe. We think.
Mavs GM Donnie Nelson always has loved him some foreign born ballers, and this would certainly fit that description.
Hettsheimeir has played recently for CAI Zaragoza in Spain. According to this story on FIBA.com, he recently had knee surgery that will require him to miss the Summer Olympics.
Here are are some highlights of Hettsheimeir working on Rockets forward Luis Scola in an international game years ago.
First thoughts? Big dude. Skilled. Slow.

why??? The only way I would want the Mavs to get this guy would be for real cheap and then amnesty haywood and bring back mahinimi. I would take this guy, ian, and wright as my big guys. And of course we have the guy we drafted out of fsu to play some if someone gets hurt.

Nothing to see here... doesn't look quick or athletic... beefier version of Shawn Bradley? There's our big splash Mavs fans!
