Going over the Edge - A sequel of stupid

What was once just a Bucket List item for so many is now apparently a regular event of, "Dude, how stupid are you?"

In June of 2011, Downtown Fort Worth Inc. launched a fun promotional event to raise awareness about downtown Fort Worth called, "Over the Edge" where people could rappel down the XTO Building in downtown FW.

On Sept. 15, 2012 - this event is back on. Click here for more event information. This time people will rappel down the 20-story Chesapeake building, located at 100 Energy Way in Fort Worth. It should be a great view of the coming thunderstorms and lightning.

Anybody can sign up for what is a really cool and once-in-a-life experience.

In the name of self-promotion, I am scheduled to go over at around 1 p.m. as will a handful of other free-loading media types. Not that that ever happens.

After I completed my turn at it last year someone wrote to me, "It would have been a better story had I died." Very true.

It could go down something like this ...

I like the stunt but it would be a better ending if you smashed into a billion pieces on the pavement.
