This is depressing - Mac Engel has been released by the Spokane Chiefs minor league hockey team.
Sorry, I wasn't fired ... but the day isn't over yet.
This does not mean his career is over, and he may yet realize my dream of buying an NHL jersey without having to pay extra for the customized name, but this sucks.
According to Jess Brown, who covers WHL's Spokane Chiefs for the Spokesman-Review, Mac Engel was released/waiting a trade.
This is one of the few leagues where being 19 is considered a bit too old.
My only hope for Mac Engel is that he never know the pain of being called Matt Ingle.

The Spokane Chiefs are in the WHL not AHL like stated in the article.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I read this headline. I was so pumped when I read that Mac Engel was fired only to find out it some kid named Mac Engel. The DFW market got rid of one Engel and I could only hope her protege' was fired but to no avail. What a disappointment!
