Movie review: A 3-year-old's take of Wreck it Ralph

220px-WreckitralphposterHollywood continues to crank out kid-themed movies that feature just enough adult oriented content so the accompanying parent won't fall asleep. But these films are first for kids.

I don't care what the critic thinks about these films as much as I want to know what the kid thinks about them. According to my 3-year-old daughter, Vivian, the new Disney movie "Wreck It Ralph" is indeed a winner.

Here is her review:

The Big Mac Blog: Did you like the movie Wreck it Ralph?
Vivian Engel: Yes.

The Big Mac Blog: Why did you like the movie Wreck it Ralph?
Vivian Engel: Because.

The Big Mac Blog: What was your favorite part of Wreck it Ralph?
Vivian Engel: Uh, the nice one.

The Big Mac Blog: Did Wreck it Ralph make you laugh?
Vivian Engel: Uh, yes.

The Big Mac Blog: What was your favorite line from Wreck it Ralph?
Vivian Engel: Uh, lion?

The Big Mac Blog: What was your favorite part of Wreck it Ralph?
Vivian Engel: The good place. I like all of the parts.

The Big Mac Blog: Did you the race cars in Wreck it Ralph?
Vivian Engel: Yes. I like the candy one.

The Big Mac Blog: Did you like the girl who raced the race car?
Vivian Engel: Uh-huh. It's a kid! Wreck it Ralph calls her a kid.

For the parents ...

Wreck it Ralph is about 90 minutes.

The Story: This goes behind-the-scenes of an '80s style video arcade. Wreck it Ralph (John C. Reilly) is a "bad guy" who works in a popular game but he is tired of being the heavy and feeling left out. He jumps into another game where he can finally win a medal, but that goes awry.
Ralph ends up in another game where he befriends a girl racer whom he shares a lot in common. Their goal is to be accepted in their own, respective, games.

Is it funny: They don't lean on the '80s games quite as much as they could have. There are a few scenes where the "bad guys" from certain video games are in counseling, which provides some laughs. Jane Lynch is never bad.

Should you see It: Since this is mostly about trying to burn up a few hours with your kid, it's not really your choice. It's funny, sweet, the visuals are solid.

I loved the movie. The little girl in your video is more articulate than you.

Loved it but the real movie celebration starts with Bella on Friday November 16th with 'Twilight; Breaking Dawn Part 2". I saw Wreck it Ralph but I can't wait for the last Twilight movie. Its so sad it's over. I have loved it so deeply.
