Went 2-3 last week; not good. Gotta be more focused. Time to dial up the Jedi mind tricks and get this done. I am down to plus-$40.

1. Oregon State (-3.5) v. Texas. HORNS. Mike Riley is a much better game coach, but those points ....
2. TCU (-2.5) v. Michigan State. FROGS. Hard to bet against Gary Patterson with a month.
3. Georgia Tech v. USC (-7.5). TROJANS. Even if they don't care they should cover.
4. Chi Bears (-3) at Det Lions. BEARS. Lions have quit.
5. Car Panthers at NO Saints (-5). SAINTS. Give Brees credit; he didn't let them quit.

The Saints game should be easy money. You are correct. Brees has way too much pride to let his guys mail it in. Also, look out next year. The Saints will be back in full force.

[Detroit wins]

I think you are way off on your Bears pick. Lions have a lot of talent and a lot of pride. Watch out of Detroit next season. They caught some bad breaks this year. Don't count on them being bad next season. Too much talent. And the Bears are not good. Lovie Smith is gone and Jake Cutler is not the real deal. If his contract wasn't so huge and locked in Cutler would be gone. Look for Detroit to beat the Bears badly on Sunday.

Bummed doesn't begin to explain how I feel. Our guys played with heart this year. One of the better TCU teams I can remember. Winning a bowl game this year would have been perfect. It was a tuff year. Really tuff. But this team hung in there. Losing this one was difficult.
