Update on UFC mega fight at Cowboys Stadium

ImageHold off on any idea that UFC is coming to Cowboys Stadium in the spring. At least it doens't look good. UFC president Dana White has made it no secret that he wants to hold an event at Cowboys Stadium, in an effort to house more than 100,000 fans.

To do that, however, White needs a massive fight. Massive such as Georges St. Pierre vs. Anderson Silva for the UFC welterweight title. That would be the fight.

That fight could happen in 2013, but not this spring.

The UFC has announced that GSP will fight rival Nick Diaz on March 16 in Montreal in UFC 158: St. Pierre vs. Diaz. According to a statement issued by the UFC, GSP requested to fight Diaz. GSP returned to the Octagon in November of 2012 after an 18-month layoff to defeat Carlos Condit in an entertaining, and bloody, fight.

GSP v. Diaz should be a good fight, but like a lot of us we're waiting for The Spider to face GSP. Neither fighter is getting any younger, so it needs to happen soon.
