March 18 - Mrs. Bates comes to life in Bates Motel

121120bates-motel1_300x206I have been waiting for this and at 9 p.m. CT on March 18 A&E's ambitious "Bates Motel" will premiere.

This is the story of Mrs. Bates and how she made her son into an absolute weirdo, and eventually a Psycho, and helped launch a lot of bad sequels. TV has dipped into some difficult waters before, but taking on the task of telling the back story that "inspired" one of the most famous horror films ever made is going to be ... difficult.

This will be the first time in this story we will ever actually get to see and hear Mrs. Bates. The show is not set in the '50s, but it appears to be a modernized version of Norma Louise and her son Norman.

The woman assigned to play one of the screen's most famous mommas is Vera Fermiga. Freddie Highmore is Norman.

Good luck ...
