Former Stars center licks a former teammate during a game

040913_ottThanks to The Big Lead for the heads up on what has to be only the most bizarre thing former Dallas Stars center Steve Ott has ever done to annoy an opponent. And that says quite a bit.

Now with the Buffalo Sabres, Ott has maintained his well-earned reputation as one of the NHL's most annoying players. FYI - He really is a great guy and was a fan/media favorite in his many years with the Stars.

What he did on Thursday night in a game against the Montreal Canadiens has to be an NHL first - he liked an opponent. Here is the best part - it was a former teammate, Jeff Halpern.

If memory serves, both of these men are single. Just sayin' ...

The Sabres were getting smoked when Ott had a faceoff against Halpern. Watch this video carefully and you can see Ott extend his tongue out to barely touch Halpern's face shield. It should be noted that a progressive an NHL did not call a penalty on Ott for Licking.
