Autograph shopping for a Johnny Manziel

Not a big surprise, but Texas A&M is tigthening down its fan day just a little bit - according to this blog by Jimmy Burch of the Star-Telegram, the meet & greet and autograph possibilities at the annual "Meet the Aggies" is going to be a little different on Saturday in College Station.

Ncf_e_manziel13_400This is in direct response to the mutiple ESPN reports that says Johnny Manziel signed loads of autographs in exchange for cash, which is a big NCAA no-no. This report is not going to lead to anything, because even if Johnny Football accpeted cash there is not going to be a paper trail. If there is, it won't be verified until after the season.

Texas A&M chancellor John Sharp took exception to the ESPN report, which so far has been a case of he-said, he-said.

Don't you worry, however, there are plenty of chances for you to spend big money on a signed picture of your favorite college football quarterback - Mr. Johnny Manziel. Most of these items range from $10 to $1,200.

This Manziel jersey costs nearly $1,200.

This is an EBay listing of a signed Manziel photo for $99.99. The seller is from Hawaii.

Here is a Johnny Manziel signed baseball for only $10.95 ... so far; the bidding isn't done just yet.

Here a Johnny Manziel signed football  for just $42.

Here is an authenticated game-used signed football for $375.

By NCAA law, Manziel can't see a dime of this.
That seems fair.
