The NFL & the NFL union set the price on a concussion

Dorsett_Tony6_CowboysThe NFL's long legal battle against former players who sued because of injuries related to the game was settled today, according to a judge. The final price for the National Football League is $750 million. Dollars.

The class action suit filed by about 4,500 plaintiffs, one of whom is former Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Dorsett, shed light on the enduring effects of concussions.

If you don't have a calculator handy, this settlement comes down to $170K per client. Now take away the government's cut, and the lawyers, and maybe it's ... $100K?

This agreement is a major win for the NFL in that it does not have to reveal any medical research it commissioned related to this controversial issue.
