How Jason Garrett belongs in the same sentence as Belichick, Couglin & Tomlin

240_jason_garrett_101913OXNARD, Calif. - Jason Garrett is actually in the same sentence as Bill Belichick, John Harbaugh and Tom Coughlin; they are all white guys who coach NFL teams.

Also, Garrett is actually one of the longest tenured active coaches in the NFL. There is just one tiny difference of Garrett's tenure from the others - he has not only not won a Super Bowl, reached a conference title game, won a playoff game or even been to the playoffs. That's hard.

1. Bill Belichick, Patriots: 2000. 3 Super Bowl titles.
2. Marvin Lewis, Bengals. 2003. Three division titles. Three playoffs. No playoff wins
5. Tom Coughlin, New York Giants, 2004. 2 Super Bowl titles.
3. Mike McCarthy, Packers. 2006. 1 Super Bowl title.
4. Sean Payton, Saints. 2006. 1 Super Bowl title.
7. Mike Tomlin, Steelers. 2007. 1 Super Bowl title.
8. John Harbaugh, Ravens. 2008. 1 Super Bowl title.
9. Mike Smith, Falcons. 2008. 2 division titles. 1 NFC title game.
6. Rex Ryan, New York Jets, 2009. 2 AFC title games.
10. Jason Garrett, Cowboys, 2010*. A lot of close, exciting, and competitive NFL football games.

Garrett's tenure with the Cowboys technically began in the middle of the 2010 season, when he was the interim replacement for Wade Phillips.
