Dirk Nowitizki is closing in on another milestone, needing 18 points tonight against Milwaukee at AAC to reach 15,000 for his career. The MVP contender (favorite) would be the 105th player in NBA history to reach the plateau, the last being Tracy McGrady.
Dirk is off to a good start, scoring 13 in the first quarter. He's up to 15 on the game. He's also closing in on becoming the franchise's all-time leading scorer, though it won't happen this season. Dirk should catch Ro Blackman (16,643) sometime next season if he's scoring anywhere near his current 25 points per game. Dirk began the season third on the team list but passed up Mark Aguirre earlier this year.
