Although both Dirk (left ankle) and Josh (right ankle) declared after Wednesday's game when they hurt their ankles that they'll be ready to play tonight against the Knicks, both will be game-time decisions.
Avery Johnson knows there's no reason to push either player and risk greater injury with the division secure and the No. 1 seed getting closer every day and pretty much looking like a lock (although you won't catch Avery saying that).
Both players will get continued treatment today and try to go.
Remember, Dirk needs one point to reach 15,000 for his career...But, if the ankle is sore, 15,000 can wait for Sunday's game against the Suns, which Avery let it be known on Friday that that game is not a SHOWDOWN.
You can't have a showdown in the regular-season, only the playoffs, The General stated.
