Kevin Willis is being worked out at this very moment on the Mavs' practice court with coach Avery Johnson...At 44, Willis is still a rock, but he hasn't played in the NBA since 2004-05 with Atlanta and that was something of a farewell tour with his old team...He's considered a great locker room guy, a notoriously hard worker and just a great teammate, the Spurs loved him a few years during their championship run...But whether he becomes the Mavs' emergency third big man behind Damp and Diop is yet to be seen. The Mavs have one roster spot to fill, but Avery has said he doesn't necessarily have to fill it...
He said last night: "I'm real leery about adding anybody right now. If it's something that makes sense, we'll do it, but it's got to really make sense."
We'll soon see if Willis makes sense...Maybe Tree Rollins is around here somewhere...
