OK, this is scary. Baron Davis told everyone last night that Stephen Jackson is his “shrink” and vice versa. Tell me about your mama, guys. Seriously, while these guys need a better handle on their emotion, their fire is one of the main reasons G-State got into the playoffs and is tied up 1-1 going back to Oaktown.
Here’s Baron on his technical fouls from ref Bennett Salvatore, who Mavs fans know all too well from the Finals: “The first one I think I got because I reached in after Jack fouled [Jet Terry]. And then the second one, I think [Salvatore] told coach he gave me a warning and coach told me to calm down, and I was calm. I know I’ve got five fouls and this is the end of the third and so I clapped at coach and clapped to the bench and said, ‘We’re going to be alright fellas, we’re going to be alright.’”
Does Baron think you let his team down? “Yeah, yeah, yeah, most definitely. It told the guys, I apologized to my coaches. I understand how important I am to this team, and my intentions were not to get thrown our of the game. My intentions were not to stand up the ref in any purpose. I understand it’s the playoffs and it’s emotional and I try to do as good a job as I possibly can and keep my emotions in check, but we’re an emotional team. I’m the leader and they feed of my emotion.”
And finally that “shrink” comment on what Jackson’s ejection says about the teams emotions: “We straight. It’s tied up at one-one. We did what we wanted to do, come and steal one. We felt we can get two. Stephen Jackson is my shrink and I’m his shrink, so we talked about it and we’re going to be straight for Game 3.”

I've seen better officiating at intramural basketball games and the YMCA. Once again Salvatore proves himself to be incompetent and interjects himself into the game. You wonder what they were looking at when handing out those first technicals, especially Jackson's.

If you believe that Davis was really just trying to cheer on his team and not trying to show up the ref, then I have some great earthquake (fault free) land I'll sell ya in Cali at a really cheap price!
