How great would it be to be P.J. Brown right about now? I mean really, we're talking about a 15-20 minute player who doesn't score much, will grab a few boards and play some defense.
But, by the way teams -- Mavs and Suns among them -- are after this guy, you'd think there's no power forwards/centers left in the NBA -- and he's not even sure he wants to play anymore anyway. He's going to get paid the full MLE of $5.36 million, and now comes word that Heat coach Pat Riley has called P.J. up to try and convince him to make an encore appearance in Miami.
The Miami Herald reports that P.J.'s agent Mark Bartelstein said the Heat is a strong contender IF he decides to play.
Oh brother.

Let him go....as you say Jeff he's a player who would play 15 or 20 minutes, score a couple of points and maybe grab a few rebounds. Definitely imop not worth the entire mid-level exception. Let Miami be the stupid one and sign him. They've got plenty of older guys on their team..let them add to it! There is no way that PJ Brown will be the difference maker (as far as the championship) no matter what team he plays on. Let Miami have the old geezer and the Mavs can save a few $$.
