Germany didn't simply lose Monday in EuroBasket07. It was annihilated.
The German national team was walloped by Slovenia 77-47 to drop to 1-3 in second round play.
Germany, however, still has a chance to make the quarterfinals. On Wednesday, Germany and Italy will play in the final game in the second round, which is technically called the qualifying round. Both teams are 1-3 so the winner will win the fourth seed, although it will face monumental odds because it will meet the top seeded team from the other group.
Dirk had been averaged 28.8 points but had only 16 in the loss on Monday.
