The contract negotiations between Don Nelson and the Warriors have not progressed significantly, so Nellie has left the Bay Area and headed back to his home in Maui.
That'll show 'em.
The details are in this article by Geoff Lepper of the Contra Costa Times. On one hand, knowing Nellie, it seems that this is merely a part of his bargaining tactics. On the other, with little movement on either side, you have to wonder if there is something deeper that will cause the 67-year-old coach to finally resign.
No doubt, we'll be hearing more -- at least when Nellie's not on the golf course.
