This just in from Mavericks owner Mark Cuban:
"I'm not trading Dirk for anyone."
If that's set in stone then the Lakers now know what's on the table for Kobe Bryant, most likely anybody else on the Mavs' roster.

Cuban also said when you have a 67 win team it's hard to break up. He said trading half the team for Kobe is like shuffling deck chairs. Where does that get you? And then if you trade all your good players for Kobe then Kobe would be in the same situation he is in right now. Imop...the Mavs do not need Kobe. As a fan, I know I don't want him. He is a cancer. He would destroy this team just like he has destroyed the Lakers. The Mavs have a great team. They don't need someone who only plays for themselves. I pray to the basketball gods that Kobe NEVER becomes a Maverick.
