Likely a little angry about dropping last night's game against the Hawks, the Mavs came out and scored 73 points in the first half. That's one less point than they allowed all game against the Cavaliers Wednesday. The last time the Mavs dropped at least 70 in the first half was Feb 26, 2005 in which they scored 71 points against the Phoenix Suns. Unfortunately for the Mavs, Phoenix scored 68 in that half and the Mavs ended up losing 124-123. Fun fact!: Recently-cut D.J. Mbenga started one of the two games he would start in his NBA career in that game and played 10 minutes and contributed 4 points, 1 rebound and 1 block.
The most points the Mavs have ever scored in one half was against Golden State on Jan. 15, 1985 in which they dropped a mind-boggling 87 points. They won the game 149-104.
