Jason Terry led the Mavericks in scoring tonight with 31 points. It is the ninth time he has crossed to 30-point plateau for the Mavericks. His highest scoring game as a Maverick was November 29, 2005 in which he poured in 37 points in a loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. His second highest scoring output was a loss to the Phoenix Suns on May 20, 2005 in the Mavs final playoff game of that season. Most remember Terry's lack of coverage on Steve Nash, who drained the game winner, and Dirk Nowitzki's on-court villification of Terry thereafter. Most forget that he scored 36 in that game.
His most points scored in a Mavericks win was also against Phoenix on Dec. 28 last season when he scored 35 points, had 8 assists and 3 steals in rout to a 101-99 Mavericks win.
Terry's career high in points is 46. Guess who it was against? The Mavericks of course, who sent Jet to the line a career-high 17 times. The Mavs still beat the Hawks 116-107, just maybe having something to do with Dirk Nowtizki's 40 points and 11 rebounds. Wang Zhi-Zhi also played 6 minutes in that game, but strangely enough, he didn't do much. How do you figure?
