On Thursday, Texas ex star guard Daniel Gibson made his return to the area -- he's from Seagoville -- and today it's former Dallas Kimball and Texas A&M star Acie Law.
These two played one incredible game against each other two seasons ago in College Station when Law buried a 3-pointer over Gibson at the buzzer to give the Aggies a huge win. That was the second year under then-coach Billy Gillispie and it really stamped the A&M program as a bona fide Big 12 contender.
The next season Gibson left for the NBA and played in the Finals with LeBron James, and Acie Law led the Aggies to a win at Kansas, the first home Big 12 loss for the Jayhawks since the start of the conference, and then nearly led A&M to the Elite 8, but was nipped by Memphis at the Alamodome in the Sweet 16.
Law has had a nice rookie season, averaging 18.2 minutes backing up starting point guard Anthony Johnson. He was the second player the Hawks took in the Top 15. They took Al Horford before him and both rookies have helped the Hawks get to 15-12 entering today's game with the Mavs.
