This wasn't as bad as last night's stinker for the ages, but it was pretty bad in its own right. Dirk shot 5 for 15 from the floor for the second straight night. It's the first time he's shot under 35 percent in two straight games since...wait for it...Dec. 1, 2005.
Two years ago today Dirk shot 3 of 13 from the floor against San Antonio after shooting 5 of 22 against Milwaukee in the previous game. Both were Mavs losses.
In fact, the Mavs played on Dec. 1, 2006 also. Guess what? Dirk shot 4 of 15 from the floor. The makes Dirk 14 of 45 from the floor on his last three December 1st games. What does this all mean? Absolutely nothing, of course. Unless you're superstitious. Maybe the Mavs should petition the NBA not to schedule any games on Dec. 1st next year just in case.
