Avery Johnson is quite pleased with the way point guard Devin Harris is running the show of late. He's on another upswing. In the past five games, he's averaging 16.4 points and 4.6 assists. His scoring average is back up to 14.0 a game, the highest it's been since Dec. 5.
He's having a lot of success penetrating and it's opening his jumper, which is going down with much more proficiency. Take his 3-point shooting for example, which is up to 35.7 percent.
In the past five games, he's made 5-of-9 (55.6 percent). In the past 11 games, he's made 13-of-24 (54.2 percent). In those 11 games, he's never attempted more than three 3s in a game, meaning he's been extremely judicious with his shot selection and is letting his penetration open things up on the perimeter.
