Look out Heat, here comes Eddie Jones to haunt his old buddies. He's already got two 3-pointers and is one shy of tying his season-high of 9.
Eddie got the hometown treatment from the three Miami beat writers in town before the game. Eddie is one of the more personable guys in the league and definitely enjoys the chit-chat with reporters.
He said that he would have stayed in Miami if the opportunity had presented itself. He said Donnie Nelson called him on July 1, the first day clubs could make direct contact with free agents. After that there was no response from the Heat, so Eddie consulted his family, which still lives in Miami, and he made the move to Dallas in quest of his first championship.
Asked if he was insulted at the way the Heat treated him, Jones said no way. "It's business."
