Jason Kidd rumors are flying out of New Jersey and they're likely not going to stop until the Nets finally trade their disgruntled star point guard...and, yes, it could be to the Mavericks.
The scenarios to make it work are complex, but not impossible. Mark Cuban and Donnie Nelson have done their best to deflect attention from any potential deal. Cuban has used references about reporters needing to step away from their crack dealers when presenting trade scenarios and asking if a reporter behind Wednesday's potential blockbuster trade proposal is "losing a lot of weight" and if his "teeth are turning yellow," presumably from inhaling too much of the rock.
Nelson insists the Mavs are pleased with their current group, aren't looking to change, unless, of course, something too good to be true falls in their lap.
As one agent said, never underestimate Mark and Donnie. You can't count them out of anything.
And so before the midnight hour struck, more information was flowing out of N.J. This time DeSagana Diop has been included in the mix that goes to New Jersey in the proposed three-way deal with Portland along with Devean George and Jerry Stackhouse. Stackhouse, the report claims, will likely be bought out by the Nets and New Jersey will send the Mavs Kidd, Malik Allen and former Mavs guard Darrell Armstrong, not post man Jamaal Magliore as previously suggested.
