Ouch! Here's how Jerry Stackhouse sprained his right thumb in the first half of Friday's game against the Heat.
"I went up for a layup and the guy blocked my shot. The ball wasn't out of my hand yet and when he blocked the ball, my thumb went back with it."
Stackhouse won't play against the Wolves, but he reports that the thumb is getting better. He said the main problem is that there's a lump, sort of about the size of a marble, at the base of his thumb, that his painful and doesn't allow him to handle the basketball.
"I could probably play tomorrow or Tuesday so I definitely should be back Wednesday," Stackhouse said.
The Mavs return home to face one of Stackhouse's former teams, the Pistons in an ESPN game Wednesday.
