In the second quarter, two Nets surrounded Brandon Bass and were attempting to wrestle the ball away from him, but that's kind of a dangerous thing. Bass is 6-8, 260 with shoulders that look like anvils. Bass was trying to protect the ball and pull it away and unfortunately for Vince Carter, Carter's jaw got in the way of Bass's elbow. Carter went down harder than Michael Spinks after being hit by Mike Tyson. Carter took about a minute to get up before leaving the court. But after resting for several minutes, he has returned.
