Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was in the middle of his pregame workout and talking about Jason Kidd's impact on the team. Cuban was asked if there had been an increase in jersey sales and he said: "Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah."
But, of course, to make the deal with New Jersey to bring Kidd to Dallas, Cuban had to fork over $17 million in salaries and luxury taxes. So putting Kidd's commercial impact in perspective, Cuban said:
"Only $16 million to go."
