The Mavs will finish their line of cupcakes today against the Miami Heat, a team that is about as cupcake as they come. They are 11-53, which is the worst in the league, and now things are looking even dimmer...
Injuries galore
Dwyane Wade has been shut down for the season with a recurring knee injury (big surprise) which probably killed the Heat's chances of sniffing 20 wins this season. Heck, 15 wins is looking suspect. On top of that, Shawn Marion and Udonis Haslem will also be out today with various injuries, which leaves the Heat with one of the ugliest, Frankenstein rosters you'll see in the NBA.
And that Frankenstein lineup includes...
Guard Jason Williams, guard Daequan Cook, forward Alexander Johnson, forward Ricky Davis and center Mark Blount will probably comprise your Heat starting lineup. If you think that's bad, check out the bench. Chris Quinn and Bobby Jones are getting big minutes while Joel Anthony (who?) got 38 minutes in their last game. To say the least, this roster is busted up.
Losing, losing and more losing
The Heat have now lost seven straight, which is their fifth losing streak of five or more games this season. Their others are 11 games, 15, 5 and 5. The Mavs have now won seven straight regular-season meetings with the Heat, and if all goes as planned, they'll get their eighth straight while extending the Heat's misery even more.
Burning question
Will Dwyane Wade ever play a full season without injury?
