The lower-back stiffness that forced Devean George out of Saturday's game in the second quarter will also keep him out of tonight's game against the Knicks, coach Avery Johnson said this morning.
That should give Antoine Wright more time to prove himself, and if not for this season then for next. Wright, at 6-foot-7, could be that bigger, athletic two-guard the Mavs have so desperately lacked. But, let's not get too far ahead. Wright's three-year pro career has progressed at a slow pace. Although one could argue that it was going to be difficult for him since he played on a team with Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson. It's still something of a head-scratcher why the Nets picked him 15th overall in the first place. But, the former Texas A&M star could be a keeper. He'll be a restricted free agent after the season.
