Maybe Jason Kidd isn't the only only former Net who'll have an impact before the season's over.
Forward Malik Allen is making an impression on Avery Johnson and now so is 6-7 swingman Antoine Wright.
The interesting thing with Wright, a third-year player out of Texas A&M who will be a restricted free agent, is he seems to be exactly the type of swingman Johnson's craved -- young, athletic, solid defensively and smart.
The Mavs have gone with a carousel of two gaurds this season including Eddie Jones, Devean George, Moe Ager, Trenton Hassell and Jerry Stackhouse. As of now, Ager and Hassell are members of the Nets, Jones isn't even dressing for games while he works out a knee issue and George is sidelined with a stiff back.
In the last two games, Wright has started to show some nice signs that he can be of value and Johnson has noticed.
"He gets after it defensively and I really love to see he and Josh [Howard] get after it because Josh is probably playing his best defense of his career right now," Johnson said. "And to see he and Antoine really get after it in practice is really good. Hopefully, they'll bring the best out of each other and make each other better."
